It all began on the Computer Engineering degree at the Autonomous University of Barcelona when Xavi and Jordi, two youngsters who loved technology, decided to change the world… well, maybe not the world, but perimeter security, although they didn’t know that.

Who would have guessed that an end-of-course project would metamorphosise into DAVANTIS. A thesis on computer vision and a trip to the United States would inspire them to set up a research and development business focused on technological video analytics solutions.
“I remember it as though it were yesterday. Xavi was wandering around San Francisco Bay looking vague when turned to me, looked me straight in the eye and said, “How about we set up a company?”

There was no beating about the bush. By the time they came back from their trip, Xavi and Jordi had already come up with a name and a business plan to make their dreams come true.
Their big break came when they won a competition for entrepreneurs at Barcelona University, after which the concept of DAVANTIS went from strength to strength. It is now a technological benchmark, developing innovative video analytics solutions based on computer vision.
These days our company is proud of our growing team, with more than 40 people working every day to make the world a safer place. We have extended our area of influence to the five continents.
